In line with its mission to encourage lifelong learning among people, Curious.com has just launched its official app for iPhone, simply called Curious for iPhone.

Like the official Curious app for iPad, which was released last August, Curious for iPhone offers easy access to short-format video-based interactive lessons across a variety of topics.

With Curious for iPhone, you can browse the available lessons and enroll in the ones that are of interest to you. Thereafter, you can learn about new things wherever you are, in your own time.

Designed specifically for the eponymous device, Curious for iPhone allows lessons to be viewed in portrait mode with access to supplemental information, including images, files, and links. It also allows for landscape viewing for full-screen high-quality video.

Curious for iPhone

Curious for iPhone also works with Curious.com’s LearnSync feature, which syncs lesson positions across devices, enabling you to pick up exactly where you left off.

Alongside the release of Curious for iPhone, Curious.com has just released a new Pocket Perfect collection, which features …

… lessons that learners can enjoy when they have a few extra minutes during the day and want to do more than feed their Candy Crush or Facebook addictions. Pocket Perfect lessons provide a “healthy learning snack” in those situations: learners can brush up on casual French or Italian greetings, demystify the world of wine, or even discover the hidden meaning of Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. Curious for the iPhone offers thousands of lessons to make you smarter and more skilled while you are on the go.

Curious for iPhone is available now in the App Store for free. It’s optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.

Bubble Chat offers a mobile Facebook chatting experience that’s quite removed from Facebook’s official mobile app offerings, in terms of design and feature set:

Discover a new Facebook chatting experience with Bubble Chat for Facebook. Bubble Chat is designed with attention to clear and intelligent use by people, young or old. It has beautiful interface that pushes boundaries of iOS 7 app design. It has some really cool features, you will fall in love with Bubble Chat for Facebook.

AirWeb For Apple TV Can Add A Browser To Your Set-Top Box

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota BY Joe White on Sat December 21st, 2013 airplay AirPlay Mirroring AirWeb apple tv internet internet browser internet browsing web web browser web browsing

Though Apple hasn’t yet added a Web browser to its Apple TV, one clever iOS app offers a similar experience using the magic of AirPlay. Called AirWeb, the application provides a Web browser interface which can be beamed over to the set-top box thanks to Apple’s wireless protocol; using your iDevice as a remote, it’s then possible to browse the Internet on the big screen of your HDTV.

Granted, this isn’t a Web browser app for Apple TV per se, but it’s the next best solution to adding an Internet browsing experience for Apple’s set-top box. The application appeared in the App Store earlier this month and it received a minor update a couple of days ago, but more importantly, AirWeb is yet another iOS application that’s on sale for the holidays. Presently, iDevice and Apple TV owners can pick up the app for $0.99, which is 50 percent off its usual price of $1.99.

Developer Christian Arild Strommen explains:

This is the first TV browsing experience that is actually pleasant to use! Using your iPhone/iPad as an input device you can now finally take advantage of that big beautiful HDTV to browse the web. Share webpages with friends or colleagues, or just surf on your own, either way BIGGER is BETTER.

Plus, AirWeb also supports gestures, meaning users can tap, pinch, and swipe anywhere on their iDevice’s screen in order to control their Apple TV, making the app’s use as a remote control all the easier.

Provided your iDevice supports AirPlay Mirroring, you’ll be good to go. This means the application is limited to the iPhone 4s and above, the iPad 2 and above, both iterations of the iPad mini, and the fifth-generation iPod touch. You can get AirWeb to work with an iPhone 4, Strommen adds, but the smartphone will require a wired connection. For the Apple TV, you’ll need a second-generation set-top box or higher.

As mentioned above, AirWeb can be downloaded in the App Store for $0.99 (for a limited time only), and is optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Snapchat Competitor Wickr Goes 2.0 With iOS 7 Redesign And More Secure Features

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota BY Aldrin Calimlim on Sat December 21st, 2013 app updates Messaging apps wickr

Snapchat may be the acknowledged leader in the ephemeral messaging space as far as popularity is concerned. But there’s another app that promises to be a more secure alternative to Snapchat, or to any other messaging app, e.g. WhatsApp, for that matter.

It’s called Wickr, and it’s an encrypted, self-destructing messaging app that provides messaging connections without having to store them on any central server. Wickr is said to be:

CONTROLLED – sender decides who sees what, where and for how longSECURE – military-grade encryption (Wickr does not have the keys)PRIVATE – not shared with strangers, deletes metadata (location, time, identification and edits)ANONYMOUS – we require no personal info from you, we collect nothing about you or what you doSHREDDED – Secure File Shredder forensically erases unwanted files you deleted from your deviceCOMPLIANT – FIPS 140-2, HIPAA, exceeds NSA Suite B Compliancy (Compliance for Top Secret communication)INTEGRATED – send PDFs and images from Box, Dropbox, Google DriveEASY – takes less than a minute to get started and is easier than emailFREE – save money on texting
Wickr

Released in June last year, Wickr has just been updated to version 2.0 with several enhancements.

Most noticeably, Wickr 2.0 introduces a new interface designed for iOS 7. It also introduces doodles and exploding messages.

In addition, the new version of Wickr lets you respond directly in the message screen and customize avatars, names, and group names. It also lets you send invites to multiple friends and automatically find your friends securely. The Wickr team notes:

Unlike other apps, Wickr does not upload your contact book to our servers; your contacts never leave your device. We don’t want to hold that sensitive information on our servers. We create a cryptographic representation of your contacts that we store on our servers to match with your friends.

Wickr 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. It’s optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.

Following on from here, Melesta subsequently launched Toy Defense 2 in the App Store, which situated iDevice gamers in a World War II environment.

In Toy Defense 3: Fantasy, however, it’s all about “dashing warriors, fearless archers, crafty goblins, and immersion in a magical atmosphere,” as the developer adds in the app’s release notes.

If you’re interested in taking the new game for a spin, Toy Defense 3: Fantasy can be downloaded for $1.99 and is optimized for the iPhone and iPod touch, and Toy Defense 3: Fantasy HD for the iPad is available for $4.99.

It Looks Like An iOS 6.1.4 Jailbreak Solution Isn’t Set To Reach Us This Year, After All

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota BY Joe White on Sat December 21st, 2013 @winocm evad3rs iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak iOS 7 jailbreak jailbreak

Hacker @winocm has been hard at work on a jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.3- and iOS 6.1.4-powered iDevices for some time, in order to provide those who’ve diligently avoided iOS 7 with a means of jailbreaking their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Back in October, we heard from the hacker that a “a definite ETA” for the iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak was “before 2014,” yet with 2014 almost upon us prospective jailbreakers had been wondering whether @winocm was set to release a piece of software in the coming days.

Now, however, we’re hearing that the jailbreak solution isn’t expected to reach us this year, after all, and no new ETA has been provided.

Redmond Pie points us to a flurry of Twitter updates from @winocm, which note that there are “no more ETAs” for the iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak; the hacker adds, “do not ask any more questions about that,” and thanks his Twitter followers for their cooperation. It seems, then, that a jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.4 is no longer in the cards for 2013, though we’ll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.

On the iOS 7 side, members of the jailbreak hacker team “evad3rs” have confirmed that Apple’s minor point updates for its mobile OS, and most recently iOS 7.0.4, are safe to download and install. From what we understand, work on this jailbreak solution is progressing, but no ETA has been announced by evad3rs.

Are you missing your jailbreak, or has iOS 7, which borrows an awful lot from the Cydia Store, been keeping you happy?

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota BY Aldrin Calimlim on Sat December 21st, 2013 app updates Bars clock apps joseph kimberley stopwatch apps timer apps

Bars has just been updated to version 2.0, just three months after its launch in the App Store.

Bars is so named because it mainly displays, well, bars. And it does so as it functions as a clock, a stopwatch, or a timer, with three bars representing hours, minutes, and seconds.

For its 2.0 update, Bars have become simpler with the removal of its bottom tab menu, which provided access to the app’s clock, timer and stopwatch sections. Instead, the app now employs a swipe-based navigation scheme whereby you can swipe to the right to go to the stopwatch and to the left to go to the timer.

At the bottom of the screen is a new info button that opens a short guide (which, for some reason, is non-Retina) on how to use the app, particularly on how to set the timer. To set the countdown time for the timer, just swipe along the bars.

Bars

Thanks to its 2.0 update, Bars’ timer function now also sends out a push notification when the countdown is finished.

Bars 2.0 also includes bug fixes, including one for an issue that causes the timer and the stopwatch to stop working in the background.

Bars 2.0 is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $0.99 download. It’s optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.

It’s interesting to note that Bars is developed by a 17-year-old named Joseph Kimberley. But as simple as the app is, creating something like it is, in my view, already a noteworthy achievement.

Bloomberg, the official iPhone app of the well-known financial news company of the same name, has just received another major update.

As you might expect from its name, the Bloomberg app provides breaking news and top stories that help you keep on top of what’s happening in the world of finance.

Released way back in 2008, the app was updated early last October to version 3.0 with a new design and various other improvements. Now, it has been updated to version 3.1 with several additional enhancements.

Among these enhancements is the ability to disable thumbnail images on news headlines, which you can do in the app’s settings section. Also, there’s the added ability to tweet a paragraph from a story — or at least a portion of a paragraph, considering Twitter’s 140-character limit. Just long-press on a paragraph and tap Tweet on the contextual menu to tweet the paragraph.

Bloomberg 3.1 also includes the following improvements focused on the Watchlist section of the app:

Increased the font sizes on the Watchlist and Market Data pagesAdded support for Landscape viewing to WatchlistAdded the ability to collapse/minimize the Watchlist summary

Go With The Flow: Actions For iPad Updated With Cross-Application Flows Feature

Just in time for the iTunes Connect holiday freeze, Usefool Apps managed to release an update to its flagship app, Actions for iPad.

Released in October last year, Actions is an app that turns your iPad into a customizable remote controller for your Mac or PC. After installing the requisite server software on your desktop or laptop computer and making sure that your computer and iPad are on the same Wi-Fi network, you can transform your iPad into a controller equipped with useful action types.

These action types include (but are not limited to) shortcuts, system commands, and snippets. What’s more, they can be customized for better recognizability using different icons and colors.

As mentioned, Actions has just received a new update. And this update brings the following improvements:

Updated style and colorMove between sets and subsets without leaving edit modeDuplicate action with a 2 fingers long pressMove action between setsLock sets on the fly (deactivate magnets)Automatic target/magnet selection

But undoubtedly the most significant new feature introduced in the new version of Actions is Flows. Essentially, Actions’ new Flows feature lets you trigger cross-application macros or command sequences with just a single tap of a single button.

Flows is available via a $2.99 in-app purchase, which also unlocks a new action type in the form of Wait. Wait lends itself well to Flows, as in a sequence where Actions needs to wait for your input before carrying out the next command.

The new version of Actions for iPad is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $3.99 download. The app is compatible with iPad running iOS 5.1 or later.

Twitter’s official app for iOS devices has just been updated with the addition of two very nice looking new features.

Most importantly, in version 5.12 of the app, Twitter photos, Vine videos, and other select content now show a preview in your home feed. Tapping the image reveals the fullscreen version. The capability can be turned off in the Settings portion of the app.

The new update also allows users to reply, retweet, favorite, or follow someone directly from a tweet in a timeline.

A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Twitter can be downloaded now in the App Store for free.

Nearing an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange, the social networking company has apparently been quite busy.

Earlier this month, news leaked that Twitter has met with employees of MessageMe and may even launch a separate direct messaging app.

Just before the release of iOS 7 in September, a report said that a future update will bring some major changes to the iOS app. The four tabs on the bottom of the Twitter app’s screen will be replaced with content-focused streams.

Twitter also recently announced a partnership with Comcast and NBCUniversal that will allow users of the app to change the channel directly from a tweet.

Form factor is a recurring point of praise in the comments posted so far, and while easy on the eyes, the reviewers also note that looks thinner, lighter air iPad is that the new iPad is more convenient to use.

Brad Molen with Engadget notes: "surprise: the air iPad is the best iPad we have reviewed." In addition, though, is also more comfortable 10 inch tablet that we have tested. "Not all manufacturers can produce a thin and light device without also making you feel weak or cheap, but nailing Apple".

David Pogue continues, noting that "make the iPad smaller, lighter and faster without sacrificing the beauty or the battery life is a tremendous achievement". In fact, the battery life of 10 hours of the air iPad is another aspect of constantly praised Tablet and Apple credit critics with being able to assemble a tablet of 9.7 inches which is more powerful, slimmer and lighter, but still maintains his day battery power. Walt Mossberg review, published by The Wall Street Journal, elaborates on this point:

The performance of the iPad battery air just killed me. My battery test resistant tablet, where disable automatic screen attenuation and other characteristics of energy saving and reproduction of video from the memory of the device are combined with Wi-Fi on and working in the normal settings of e-mail, the iPad has nearly always met their claims and overcome competitors by a wide margin.
But this new iPad air continued to operate, with a duration of 12 hours and 13 minutes, exceeding the demand for Apple by more than 20%. The company said that its chip A7, combined with the fact that controls its own operating system, the new iPad to the possibility of adapting the processes under the hood so you drains unnecessary battery can be minimized.

Adds: "conclusion: If you can afford it, new air iPad is a tablet that I recommend, hands down."

The absence of tactile identification in the mini iPad or iPad air us disappointed, and tests of the new tablet of 9.7 inches of Apple count this, too. It is not a huge problem, however, as Tim Stevens with notes CNET: "Although does not provide any new functionality to the table, and we can't help but be disappointed by the lack of tact ID, the increase in yield and solid battery life show that progress is still being made in the interior". He continues to praise the changes made to the exterior design of the iPad, it continues:

It is the new exterior design, however, which really impresses. The air iPad is also thinner than any tablet that deserves to be this size and lightweight. The old iPad was always surprisingly strong. This, agile compellingly.

Finally, in a particularly applicable comment who abandoned the iPad 9.7-inch mini-7, 9-inch Apple iPad last year, Darrell Ethrington with TechCrunch explains:

You have mainly used a mini iPad over the past year, is not that it returns to the screen of Retina of 9.7 inches was an edifying experience. I felt a little like get your adjusted recipe and realize that you have been seeing all evil for a long time. Video shines in the air, iPad as content rich as books of cartoons and photos.

However, added: "the smart case makes the air iPad feel quite a bit more bulky, in my opinion and is quite hard to get once your [sic]." On the other hand, is definitely more protection than the smart case [sic, cover], and is still relatively slim. "Apple has also nailed his designs case leather in terms of a product that feels very high quality, and that is what they have done here, also."

For more information about iPad accessories of air, be sure to see our roundup.

Have the previous comments changed its opinion on the air iPad? They plan one collecting on 1 November, or instead you are going to go to an Apple store and go with the new tablet of 9.7 inches before you make your decision? As a reminder, the mini iPad with Retina display is indeed in the pipeline and is set to launch "later on" November, although sources said that they are particularly low.

Apple confirms iPhone 'Limited' 5s phones suffer decreased battery life

BY Joe White at Wednesday, October 30, 2013 battery battery life iphone 5s

Apple has confirmed that they suffer a "limited number" of mobile phones iPhone 5s short, and that owners are actively being contacted and offered replacement phones.

Although the battery life awesome features of seventh-generation iPhone - about 10 hours of talk time on 3 G, according to the web site of Apple - a number of owners has found the phone equipped with touch ID does not has been performing very well.

On the other hand, the affected terminals iPhone 5s are losing all their cargo in a short period of time, according to a recent article published by The New York Times. Of course, this would be very problematic for owners.

Get Frictionless Access To Your Contacts With Fast Dial

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota Fast Dial ~ photo dialer and social app launcher for your contacts by Omar Sosa icon

Fast Dial ~ photo dialer and social app launcher for your contacts ($0.99) by Omar Sosa is a lightning fast way to get quick access for contacting your favorite people. If you like having shortcuts, but don’t want something as complex as Launch Center Pro or Buzz Contacts, then perhaps Fast Dial is the way to go.

Shortcuts — they make life so much easier for us, don’t they? Of course, when done properly, as there isn’t always a shortcut in life. But for talking to your most important people with your iPhone, there are plenty. Fast Dial is an incredibly fast and fluid option for those who are looking for a simple way to contact their friends, family, and co-workers without friction, and has a gorgeous interface to boot.

Fast Dial features a very simple and clean, yet beautiful, interface that is just perfect on iOS 7. It is completely flat, and features plenty of whitespace along with a yellow-based green header bar. Typography is light, but still easy-to-read. There are no extra bells and whistles beyond what you need for a fast access contact app, making Fast Dial incredibly fast and responsive. There are two different views that you can use, which are the List and Face Dial, which are reachable from the bottom menubar, along with a Settings tab.

The List view is just that — a list of your contacts. The Face Dial view will place the emphasize on the contact images stored on in you address book, so of course this looks best if you have images for everyone. You can add the contacts you talk to most by tapping on the “+” button in either view.

When adding your favorite contacts, you will need to do this one-by-one. The developer has already told me that a future update will include a way to quickly add all of your contacts into the app. Though I can understand why this would be requested, it doesn’t make too much sense to me as this was meant to be an app to access your most used contacts, not everyone, but I digress.

Once you added in your contacts, there are several things you can do. From the List view, you can swipe left to reveal a contextual menu for that person with options to call, message, or email them. For people with multiple contact information stored, tapping the method will bring up a menu asking you which number or email you want to use. If you swipe right instead, you can access even more alternatives for contacting them, such as WhatsApp, Skype, Facebook, or Twitter.

The Face Dial view works a bit differently. Rather than swiping on images, it requires tapping to access the various actions you can take. You can actually configure the amount of taps it takes to do an action in the app’s settings. By default, one tap will call, two will message, and three does email. If you do four taps, it will reset to the defaults for that contact. There is also a toggle to wait five-seconds before the action takes place, in case you prefer the delay.

I was a bit surprised to see that there is no way to rearrange the order of your contacts in the Face Dial tab. I thought it would make sense to drag the photos around, but the only way to reorder your people is to go into the List screen and edit, where you are then able to tap-and-drag them to your preferred order. Hopefully this can change in the future.

Also in the app’s settings is the ability to show email addresses for iMessage, show only “Mobile” numbers, add prefixes to Skype numbers, and Twitter actions (default mention or private message and choose where to tweet from). The supported methods for Twitter include from within the app itself, official Twitter app, Tweetbot, or Twitterrific.

So far, I’m finding Fast Dial incredibly useful, and it’s definitely more intuitive than Apple’s own Favorites section in Phone.app. Plus, the extra third-party options are a plus, and you don’t see that too often in a fast access contact app.

The only thing that I don’t like right now is the inability to rearrange contacts in Face Dial view. I would have thought that this would be a given, and it’s annoying to have to go to the List View for this one task. I hope that the developer sincerely addresses this in future versions.

Still, Fast Dial is a great solution for quickly getting to your favorite or most important people from your iPhone. I recommend it if you want a better method than Phone.app’s Favorites.

Mini Apple iPad inventory data indicates Non-Retina could remain on the market

BY Joe White on Sunday, 20 October 2013 mini tv mini iPad ipad 2 Apple

Alleged recently from Apple indirect channel inventory data indicate that the Cupertino, California company could be planning to offer its first mini iPad generation next to a model of long - rumored Retina display-equipped. The channel also indicates that the third-generation Apple TV from Apple stock is high, which suggests that an update is unlikely.

Of course, it is impossible for us to know the information that reached us from AppleInsider, is legitimate. In addition, it is also difficult to interpret the data correctly. AppleInsider explains:

It should be noted that the data behind the table comes from one of indirect channels of Apple supporting large retailers and distributors and not those channels that serve the company online and retail stores. Therefore should b.e [sic] used only to supplement the existing information environment next company product launches on October 22, as it does not offer conclusive evidence in all cases.

However, the first Apple stock levels generation 7.9 inch tablet his repetitions of 16GB and 32GB (Wi-Fi) say they are "surprisingly" high, while the other models of the mini iPad is "lower middle" in terms of availability.

Therefore, the information could indicate that Apple plans to keep the Retina display not iPad mini on the market and offering consumers at one lower price.

However, as AppleInsider adds, "Apple may have recently let her remain [sic] inventory of iPad minis from their direct channels in its indirect channels ahead of next weeks presentation, a practice that is not uncommon that the Cupertino company when you need to empty your channel for new action."

The data is reconstructed in the following table:

Inventory of indirect channel of Apple.

As you can see, the same can be said of the third generation of Apple TV. Gente familiar with the data of such that the set-top-box inventory is "the highest has been in months."

But at the same time, other reports have indicated that a refurbished Apple TV, too, is also on the cards for next week.

Two new reports claim Touch ID is linked to iPad, after all

BY Joe White at Sunday, October 20, 2013 5 mini ipad 2 ipad Touch ID

Two new reports, each one complete with alleged pictures of latest generation of Apple iPads, they claim that the iPad mini iPad 2 and 5 are to have a footprint analysis button Home Touch ID-equipped.

The news comes after a report detailed in Apple event for the media Tuesday of Kuo Ming-Chi with KGI Securities, which stated that, in fact, not be the case.

The analyst, who has offered reliable predictions based on Apple in the past, said touch ID is not ready to reach the mini iPad or iPad 9.7 inches in 2013.

As we explained in our original article:

Kuo will claim that a mini iPad with Retina display is in fact ready to launch, also. This will have a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 and will continue to be 7.9 inches; Add the mini iPad 2 is expected that they have the same processor Apple A7 appearing in iPhone 5s.

Kuo points out, however, that he does not believe or iPad will feature Apple'sfingerprint touch identification scan. This writes, due to production problems - Apple is not able to earn enough for 5s iPhone, Kuo claims, and much less two new models of iPad.

Now, however, CTechCN reports and news of 2014 both argue that you touch ID is subject to the iPad, after all and they claim to have photos to prove it.

First, the image of CTechCN (photographed below) allegedly shows iPhone 5s, the mini iPad 2 and 5, all iPad in the choice of colour "grey space" and all of them with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Source: CTechCN.

5 IPad represented above fact seems to take influence from the design of the mini iPad, as earlier rumors and reports have indicated of course.

On the other hand, the mini iPad 2 shown in the image of CTechCN is similar to the first generation 7.9 inch tablet. However, the web site says that although similar in appearance, the second generation of the mini iPad boasts a high-resolution Retina display, as it was to be expected.

Besides piece of CTechCN comes a 2014 news report, which includes the image that appears at the top of this article.

As you can see, the box (also included below) clearly shows what looks like a mini iPad gold, with a Home equipped touch ID button.

Rumors have indicated that of the latest generation of Apple iPads will be available in space grey, white and silver and gold and silver color options.

The report, however, interestingly says that mini 2 Apple iPad does not have a Retina display and suggests that this addition is being saved for the year 2014.

Source: news of 2014.

Given that these reports are not in accordance with one another with respect to the second generation of the mini iPad Retina display anticipated, our view is that both should be taken with a grain of salt.

A recent analysis has indicated that the mini iPad 2 will feature a high-resolution Retina display, at least. However, we know nothing for certain until the product is officially announced by Apple next week.

As a reminder, Apple has its special media event at 10 a.m. PDT this coming Tuesday. It is covering us the news of the day from the beginning until the end, so be sure to check with us.

KGI Securities: Slim A7X-Powered iPad 5, mini iPad Retina, do not touch ID

BY Joe White on Saturday 19 October 2013 5 ipad ipad mini 2 KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo Touch ID

In a report published today, Kuo Ming-Chi with KGI securities has the latest on what his company expects to announce next week, in the event Apple iPad-themed.

Like all of us, Kuo hopes of an iPad's 9.7-inch fifth generation and a mini iPad 2nd Gen which will be released during the Apple event. The analyst also anticipates a refurbished MacBook Pro, also and in its research note that offers an opinion about what consumers can expect from each product.

5 IPad, then, will be 20 percent thinner than its predecessor and will have narrower bevels, too, like the mini iPad.

In this sense, the description offered by Kuo coincides with the majority of the previous iPad 5 rumors that have emerged on the Internet: for some time we have been waiting for an inspired mini iPad 9.7-inch iPad to launch Apple and Kuo Ming-Chi argues that it is indeed in the cards for next week.

Also hopes that the fifth generation iPad to offer a 64-bit Apple A7X processor and an 8 megapixel camera with a larger opening.

In his research note, which comes from 9to5Mac, Kuo will claim that a mini iPad with Retina display is in fact ready to launch, also. This will have a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 and will continue to be 7.9 inches; Add the mini iPad 2 is expected that they have the same processor Apple A7 appearing in iPhone 5s.

Kuo notes, however, that he does not believe or iPad will feature Apple fingerprint scanning touch identification. This writes, due to production problems - Apple is not able to earn enough for 5s iPhone, Kuo claims, and much less two new models of iPad.

In more positive terms, the research note predicted a gold for the mini iPad and the iPad's 9.7-inch color option. Three color options, should then be available: space grey, white and silver and white and gold.

A starting from his speech iPad-centeric, Kuo also anticipates a refurbished MacBook Pro to be announced during the event to the media on Tuesday. 9To5Mac says:

the Analyst expects the MacBook Pro line that has been updated with Haswell processors and an updated high-definition camera. We also hope the SSD PCIe and 11ac networking MacBook Airs, iMacs received in recent months.  The biggest change will be the battery saving who should push life to more than 10 hours of the current amounts that begins with about 3-4 hours in real-world testing.

It will also be interesting to see if Apple continues to offer its Retina display not MacBook Pro.

However, then, KGI securities research note corroborates much of what we have already heard, and the aspect of the plans from Apple that remains largely is disputed among analysts and only crucial is whether the company is planning to add contact ID to its 9.7-inch iPad and iPad mini.

Of course, we will know nothing with certainty until Apple makes ads on stage, next Tuesday. As a reminder, the media event is ready to begin at 10 a.m. PDT, and we're going to be covering the news of the day from start to finish.

US Cellular To Offer Apple’s iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c From Nov. 8

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota BY Joe White on Sat October 19th, 2013 carrier carriers iPhone 5C iphone 5s U.S. Cellular us cellular

U.S. Cellular, the fifth largest carrier in the United States after AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile, has confirmed that it will be offering Apple’s iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c from Nov. 8.

The news has been reflected over at the carrier’s website, where the above image heads the main page. As a reminder, U.S. Cellular has some 4.6 million subscribers, and as such it’s important for Apple to have the carrier on-board for its new iPhone handsets.

In the United States, a large number of regional carriers, including Bluegrass Cellular, C Spire, Cellcom, and MTA, started offering the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c from Oct. 1.

The prepaid carrier Cricket since confirmed that it, too, will offer the new handsets, albeit from Oct. 25.

As of this writing, U.S. Cellular hasn’t released information concerning pricing. Instead, its iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c Web pages merely offer information on each handset, along with the option of comparing the two.

However, it’s likely that the carrier will follow the retail model adopted by Apple and the other major U.S. carriers.

Though of course, a number of U.S. retailers have indeed started offering the iPhone 5c, in particular, at discounted prices. If you’re in the market for a new handset, we’d advise shopping around in order to ensure that you find the best possible deal.

Apple’s Most Popular iPhone 5s Is … ‘The Kardashian Phone?’

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota BY Joe White on Sat October 19th, 2013 gold iPhone 5S iphone 5s keeping up with the kardashians kim kardashian

It’s no secret that one of Apple’s most popular handsets to date is the gold iPhone 5s. But did you know that during the course of its development, Apple employees jokingly referred to the smartphone as “the Kardashian phone?” Me neither.

The news came in a Twitter update from The New York Times’ Nick Bilton (@nickbilton), and was subsequently confirmed by TechCrunch.

However, the backstory surrounding Apple’s use of this informal codename needs more than 140 characters to explain.

Long before Apple’s champagne-colored iPhone 5s was announced in September, Kim Kardashian had her black iPhone 5 anodized in gold, using Anostyle.

Back in 2012, Kim published a Twitter update about her iPhone makeover, and the anodized handset even went on to appear in the hit reality TV series, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

Anostyle later noted that gold orders were its most popular product, by far.

As such, when the time came for Apple to produce its own official gold iPhone handset, an internal (albeit informal) nickname was chosen for the forthcoming iDevice: “the Kardashian phone.”

The rest, of course, is history.

Though, according to Boy Genius Report, Kim has actually moved on to using a black iPhone. “Gold is so tacky now! Been there done that!,” she reportedly told the website.

Oh well, more gold iPhone 5s handsets for the rest of us, right?

Peculiar application of the day: help the Boogie undead in Zombie Dance Off

Zombie Dance Off (free) by the time of banana is a dancing game that tests your reflexes. These zombies feel the need to get off, but someone has to help them with their movements. Following the instructions on the screen, the zombie to dance and have fun until he falls dead. Oh, wait...

You start the game with the zombie disco. The leisure suit and platform shoes should have been a clue about your musical preferences. When you press the play button, the game puts your zombie on the dance floor. Instructions on the stroke direction will begin appearing on the screen.

Each hit will make your zombie do a particular dance movement. There is a clock in the lower part of the screen that will let you know how much you have to make the gesture. As you progress through the level, has less and less time to do the moves. Movements complete most followed without making mistakes, most will raise your score multiplier. This result will help you win the brains and unlock new characters.

New characters have more dance moves. For example, after reaching a score of 2,000, unlock the pop star. Apart from doing the four basic strokes, you can tap it to pose, lift the head or shaking hands.

Your credit score will give you brains. No, it will do you more intelligent. That is to give you the brains as currency. You can use these brains to buy new clothes, power-ups or even a new location.

What happens if you do not want to wait to win the brain? Hard cookies. There is no purchase in the application in this game. You'll have to get your brain playing.

Since not in app purchases, there are ads. There is an ad that appears at the beginning, before the application fully charge, and another pop-up menu when you lose the level. There are no ads that run during the game.

I love this game. I thought it was incredible that the zombies danced while he robbed and hit. I also liked how each new dancer has more moves you can do. The graphics were great, and it didn't matter I ads since there were very few.
